Music that helps the brain settle, listen and learn.

Modulysa is a structured programme of specially modulated music. You listen to the music twice a day, for 21 to 30 minutes, over about ten days. You stimulate your ears without being overwhelmed, and past participants describe calmer days, longer attention and more connection.

When everyday sound is too much, everything else gets harder.

Many children and adults with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties or anxiety hear the world louder and less sorted than others. A vacuum cleaner, a classroom or a busy shop can take all their energy. What is left for listening, learning and being with people is small.

Modulysa works at the root: the way the ear and brain take in sound. The music is modulated with Modulysa's own analogue technique, so the ear cannot predict what comes next and stays actively engaged. Over about ten days, this gentle exercise helps the auditory system become more flexible and less easily overwhelmed.

What a session feels like

  • Settle in

Find a quiet corner, put on a pair of over-ear headphones and keep something easy for the hands nearby, such as drawing, a puzzle or Lego.

  • Just listen

For 21 to 30 minutes the modulated music plays at a comfortable volume. There is nothing to do and nothing to get right, so doodle, rest and let the music carry you.

  • Carry on with your day

No homework and no screens are needed. Most families fit the second session in after school or before bed, a few hours after the first.

  • Notice the small things

A calmer kitchen, easier mornings, a child who stays at the table a little longer. The changes build week by week, and a short diary helps you see them.

Simple for families. Serious underneath.

Modulated music, not ordinary music

Each album is processed with Modulysa's own analogue modulation technique. The ear never knows what comes next, so it keeps listening actively instead of tuning out.

A clear 10-day rhythm

Two sessions of 21 to 30 minutes a day for about ten days, in a calm place and with good headphones. The programme guides the order of the albums, so families never have to guess what comes next.

Developed by clinicians over 30 years

Modulysa grew out of decades of daily work with children with special needs, led by social workers and a psychotherapist with a doctorate in autism and psychology.

Private and safe listening

The audio streams securely in your browser, so there is nothing to install, nothing to download and nothing that leaves your device.

Follow progress together

A simple diary and a clear view of completed sessions mean that you and your practitioner always see the same picture.

Built for practitioners too

Therapists and schools invite their own listeners, decide which albums each one may play and follow progress from one dashboard.

Notice and note

Keep a short diary. Changes are often gradual and easiest to see when you look back over the weeks.

What families and practitioners tell us

Thirty years of listening programmes give a consistent picture. The first changes are usually about sound and calm; attention, language and social contact tend to follow. Changes build gradually and are easiest to see over weeks, not days.

These are observations reported by families and practitioners, not guaranteed results. Modulysa is not a medical treatment. Read how we think about the evidence on our research page. Read the research summary →

Calmer in noisy places

Families most often describe a lower reaction to sudden or everyday sounds within the first weeks.

Longer attention

Teachers report that listeners stay with a task longer and are easier to redirect.

Better sleep and mood

Many parents notice steadier evenings and a brighter mood during the programme.

More words, more contact

Practitioners describe more spontaneous language and more eye contact, especially in younger children.

Steadier decisions

Adolescents and adults describe less overwhelm and clearer thinking in busy environments.

Warmer with others

Lower sensory stress leaves more room for empathy, play and shared attention.

“He stopped covering his ears in the kitchen. By week three he was sitting with us at dinner.”

Parent of a 6-year-old

“I use it with my whole caseload. The dashboard tells me who is actually listening, which saves a lot of phone calls.”

Special-needs educator

“The difference in the classroom was obvious to teachers who did not know she was doing anything new.”

Mother of a 10-year-old

Good to know before you start

Who is Modulysa for?

Children, adolescents and adults who are sensitive to sound, struggle with attention or need help to settle. Many of our listeners have autism, ADHD, learning difficulties or anxiety, but the programme is open to anyone.

Is this a medical treatment?

No. Modulysa is a structured listening programme. It does not replace diagnosis, therapy, medication or schooling, and we never ask anyone to stop other support. Please talk to your clinician if you are unsure.

What equipment do I need?

A phone, tablet or computer with a modern browser and a pair of comfortable over-ear headphones. No app or download is needed.

What if I miss a day?

Just continue the next day. Consistency matters more than perfection, and the programme counts your sessions, not the days, so a missed day is never lost.

How soon will we notice something?

Most families describe the first changes, usually around sound and calm, within the first two weeks. Attention, language and social contact tend to follow more slowly. Keep a short diary, because the changes are easiest to see when you look back.

Can a practitioner manage listeners for me?

Yes. Practitioners get their own dashboard, invite listeners by e-mail or link, and decide which albums each listener can play.

Which languages are supported?

English, Swedish, German, Spanish, Turkish, Persian and Arabic, including right-to-left layout.

Ready for calmer days?

Set up takes two minutes. Your first session can start today.
